wouldn't it be great...

...if we had only two days left of summer vacation and school was starting in two days and not ending? actually, i'm excited. it will be a good feeling not to have to pack four lunches every single weekday morning. i just got back from the grocery store because they need "good snacks" for the last two days. noah requested fruit roll ups and pop tarts. eddie requested some kind of rice chip. lana was begging for funoions. the pop tarts won. (because secretly i LOVE brown sugar and cinnomon pop tarts.) couldn't find the others. oh, and ceily requested carrots. got those too.

...if we had never missed two years of taking piano lessons? we wouldn't have to re-learn old stuff. eddie and lana would probably be concert pianists by now. we just started back with piano lessons last month. so far, so good. this go around ceily was added to the list. after her first practice session, she declared she's quitting because it's too hard!!! i reminded her she had only taken one, yes, one! lesson and she wasn't allowed to quit. she's happier now. she's actually pretty good for never having had any training. i'm always praising her for her superb hand position. it's really good. we love our teacher. he's fun. the children like him. i L.O.V.E. him becasue he comes to the house. lana has declared she wants to be a piano teacher. noah has declared he never wants to be added to the piano takers list.

...if chris' parents would let us have one dairy cow, three chickens and a coop, and a beehive or two on their property? we had dinner at chris' parents last week. we were excited to go because we had just been discussing that maybe we need to have a chicken coop, or honey bees, or for a while now i've been thinking how awesome it would be to have a dairy cow that is ours. so awesome that they would all have to live on jim and jacqui's property. chirs' mom had to hang up the phone after she heard chickens and coop being discussed. pretty sure this won't be happening. jim informed us chickens are dirty. very dirty. and bees sting. and it hurts.

but we did enjoy the lake and the sun and trying to find the big green toad.

found the tiny brown one instead.

lots of cannon ball contests. at one point noah left. he was gone for a bit. he came running back, jumped into the lake, made a huge splash and then told us he had gone to the top of the driveway. (a pretty long distance actually.) apparently, this makes for bigger cannon balls.

...if out of 400 pictures taken, we could fine one that was good? for mother's day, we had a photo shoot of the grandkids for chris' mom.

i have been eyeing this one spot for a while now and drove everyone there. we got out of the car and proceeded to get into postions. after a few taken pictures, the faces started to change and the swatting began to commence and eventually turned into a bit of a meltdown for all involved.
Photobucket

apparently the place i had been staking out was filled with tall grass that was the home to thousands of tiny bugs and tics.
