pictures

the other morning i was trying my hardest to get a good picture of noah. he was on the couch, wrapped up in a blanket and i just wanted one that i could use for a post. i was clicking away. he wasn't cooperating. eyes purposely shut in one. a random tongue sticking out in another. mouth wide open, with arms spread wide in yet another. goofy poses a 6 year old thinks he needs to make once the camera is turned on him. not what i was wanting. i kept shooting away thinking if i take 200 pictures i'll have at least one that i like.

eddie was in the room too. he was sitting on the ottoman, tying his shoes, getting ready to walk out the door to catch the bus for another day in 6th grade.

eddie: "why are you taking soooooo many pictures of noah all the time?"
me: "do you want me to take a picture of you eddie?"
eddie: "yes, i do actually."

so i turned my lens toward his face, snapped one picture and was done for the day.

Photobucket

good thing i did. look at that face. not one tongue sticking out. not one eye purposely shut or squinting. not one ridiculous crouched down pose with arms extended in the air.
just a perfect, bright smile and shiny eyes, complimenting a happy, handsome face.
i'm glad i took the time to change my focus.
