when new babies come, they bring with them such peace and calmness. the world stops for a bit and we are able to drink in the beauty that is birth. a miracle of life. two babies double the peace and calm. i'm sure the babies parents are stressed...just a little bit. but, we can't ignore the feeling in the air when we study their tiny faces, and perfect toes and teeny fingers and eyes that blink, as they experience the new earth they are now a part of.
bo and sunday, the brand new twins that my beautiful sister summer carried for 35 weeks, are here and they are beautiful and perfect in every way. 5 weeks early. both over 5 pounds. both with darling faces that you'll swear would fit on an eggshell. both with dark, soft hair. both looking almost alike, but somewhat different, not identical. both too perfect for words.
after the babies shower on saturday, summer started having blood pressure issues. because baby A was breech, an emergency c-section was scheduled.
at the shower, my other beautiful sister sierra, had organized and arranged for mothers of twins and twins to share some memories or thoughts about being a twin or having twins.
we came away knowing that Bo(baby A) and Sunday(baby B) will love being twins. and summer will love them dearly, but they will drive her absolutely crazy.
i'm sure the crazy will be well worth it.
