****one week before thanksgiving, chris' mom had a heart attack. days later she had quadruple bypass surgery. to say the least, things were stressfull. hence, maybe not getting a christmas tree, when to have lana's baptism...etc. we decided we needed to have lana baptised as originally planned. this was written sunday evening (12-13-09)after the festivities. our only regret is that jacqui, chris' mom, was unable to be there. chris has requested being able to write about his mother. soon, soon.****

wonderful, weekend.
lana was the star. (mostly.)

family from far and from near were gathered.
to celebrate her baptism.

she was darling. she looked darling.
she was feeling special and it showed.
i thought as i took pictures and as we readied ourselves to travel to the chapel, how it never tires. my third, but not my last, and it's still exciting.
my heart swells with love and gratitude that i've been entrusted with these wonderful, sweet spirits.
me: "lana, how do you feel?"
lana: "happy."
me: "do you feel different?"
lana: "yes."

i can tell there's a confidence now that wasn't there before.
that makes me happy.
that makes me happy.
after the baptism, i made all hungry people stand in mass to take pictures.
we then came home to the home baked goodness of ....
actually, i decided i didn't want to come home and cook. instead i made everyone (all 40 of us) go to cheeburger cheeburger. some protested. but all were full and happy. hunter's and nico's faces grace the wall. you can see their pictures declaring they ate the pounder. henry joined the wall with eddie; finishers of the 1/2 pounder. hunter wanted to throw up. nico groaned all the way home and into the night.

we did come home to eat delish cupcakes and home cooked cookies and sing birthday wishes to sean. all 35 of us.
but wait. i am still shaking my head and can't quite believe it happened.
someone else made a cameo appearance.
someone else made a cameo appearance.
that would be eddie.
as i was gathering stuff and thanking individuals for coming, eddie appears.
he's bleeding from the lip a bit.
he opens his mouth and his two front teeth....
broken.
in pieces.
we only found two tiny bits. he was running and tripped on a chair. his teeth landed on the chair as he fell.
i was quite impressed he wasn't wailing and thrashing on the floor in pain. he was extremely composed and unruffled. i still can't believe it happened.
he wants to go to school tomorrow and show everyone his snaggle toothed smile.
war wounds. (as i wrote the check for $450 i wished eddie a merry christmas.)

so proud of lana. yeah lana! you're the best!

Don't forget Jackson! He joined Eddie on the 1/2 pounder wall of fame too... bun and all!
Congratulations, Lana! I'm so sorry to hear about Chris's mom and Eddie's teeth! Glad you blogged about Lana's baptism. That's quite a crew!
I'm so proud of her. I've missed hearing from you. I'm glad to hear of Lana's baptism.
