tree

Photobucket
chris and i got the tree today.

yesterday we had told them we were planning on not getting a real tree.

too much going on.
we already had a fake one.

they were upset.

chris was feeling happy and generous and like super dad.
so we got a tree. brought it home. got it inside. anxious for the children to open the door as they arrived home. we envisioned them happy, thrilled, overwhelmed that we actually did get a
real tree.
for them.
every. single. one. of. them. hates. it.
but i love it.

Hahahaha! What kind of freaky tree is that? And how much did you pay for it? :)

jayne, jayne, jayne...you thought they would love it? my kids(well micah) still struggle with "do the decorations really all have to match"? bill brought home such a big tree this year micah said..."this year we will have to use some of our random ornaments because there won't be enough of our regular ones". kids like the run of the mill, what everyone else has, christmas tree...except really really huge fat ones apparently ...i love your tree however!...looks like you can plant it after christmas...i felt really bad this year looking at the huge tree they brought home...kinda felt like murder...

So, just to be clear, we decided to get a tree that we would plant outside after Christmas. So it's a tree that we like and will develop into a good tree for our yard, but is, obviously, not a traditional Christmas tree. When we were looking, we were thinking of how it would eventually look outside and didn't really think of how it would like as a Christmas tree. But even with all that, Jayne and I like it enough and enjoy the bitter recriminations of our children. Just to be nice, Jayne put up the fake tree last night on the landing so the kids have something they feel good about.

Thanks for the clarification, Chris. I'm sure the tree will look great in your yard. :) I'm glad you satisfied your children with the fake tree. Merry Christmas!
