best sickie ever

Photobucket

i've mentioned it before, but i need to state it, once again,
noah is the best person alive to have sick.
(although, this go around, he has been a bit demanding. breakfast in bed, every day.)

the first morning he was sick, he came into our room, announced he needed medicine, and then proceeded to head to the bathroom to throw up. he only hit the carpet a bit. the rest made it into the toilet. throughout the remainder of the night, he would wake and tell me he needed medicine and then a drink and then go back to bed.

last night, he mentioned the need for more meds, a drink of water, and then a little bit of television. the little bit of television turned into a lot a bit of television. i think i turned the tv on at 1am and then fell back to sleep. i then woke at 5:30am and he was still watching. this morning he said to me, after mentioning he needed his medicine, "mom, you know that you should read to your kids 20 minutes a day." i responded that yes, i did know that. his reply: "you heard that lady last night while you were sleeping?!"

this afternoon as we were trying to get a few errands done, he said he really needed medicine. we went to the store, bought the medicine and a toy for the sick boy. he also said he really needed a slushy. he fell asleep before the slushy appeared.

as we headed home, he decided that first, he needed to take a nap, and then he would go get a slushy. so he went upstairs, napped for a bit, woke, got his shoes on and we headed to the slushy store. he was happy.

after the slushy, he fell asleep again. he was seen coming down the stairs, hot and miserable looking, stating to his father, that he had just thrown up and needed some medicine. he told his dad that he had only had tylenol earlier and it was time for the motrin. (he was wrong. i had given him motrin. i guess i can't hand over the whole sick business to the 5 year old yet. maybe next year...i'll just have to teach him that tylenol begins with t and motrin begins with m and how to read the thermometer.)

at dinner time, he was anxious to eat.
his stomach was not.

he walked calmly to the bathroom, threw up, calmly returned to the kitchen, and agreed when i recommended maybe waiting until later to eat his dinner.

he now sleeps.

me? i'll just wait patiently until he wakes me for his next dose of medicine.
